Dr. Joanna Prokes
Dr. Joanna Prokes has been a practicing chiropractor for 16 years. She’s a farm girl from New Prague, Minnesota who played several sports in high school. She saw a chiropractor as a student athlete and found it to be very helpful, not just for the adjustments to her neck and back, but it improved the overall function of her body and nervous system. That’s when she decided she, too, wanted to be a chiropractor.Improving people’s health and lives with a hands-on approach appealed to her. She wanted to give the same relief to others that she received.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Jamestown College in North Dakota, and went on to earn her doctorate degree in chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2010. Dr. Prokes loves working with people of all ages, including kids, and has been a fabulous addition to our clinic.
Dr. Prokes is married with two kids. Spending time with family, playing volleyball, drawing and painting are just a few of her hobbies, and she considers herself a life-long learner.
Dr. Amanda Smith
Dr. Smith grew up in a small rural town in southern Wisconsin, where everyone knew each other. While attending chiropractic school, she discovered her love for Minnesota’s metro area, appreciating its many opportunities and activities, from movies and theater to diverse restaurants.
Her journey into chiropractic care began in high school after a skiing injury. The treatment played a key role in her recovery, sparking her interest in the field. After touring a chiropractic university and shadowing a local chiropractor, she knew this was her calling. Passionate about natural health and healing, she is dedicated to helping people understand their bodies and make informed choices to support their well-being.
Dr. Smith earned her Bachelor of Science from UW-River Falls before obtaining her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University. She has additional training in various chiropractic techniques, including Activator, Graston, Cranial-Sacral, Posture Analysis, and Flexion-Distraction.
Outside of work, she enjoys movies, hiking, gardening, and spending time outdoors. She also loves binge-watching TV shows (1923, Law and Order, The Resident, The Mandalorian, Invincible), as well as playing video games and board games. When she’s not at the clinic, she runs her mobile animal chiropractic practice, Balanced Head2Tail, providing care for animals.

Hello everyone, I have been at Advanced Spinal Care and Rehab since the fall of 2025. I have found it extremely rewarding to meet and get to know patients and their families. It has been fascinating to see patients come in and seek services and see them gradually get better!I have worked in hospitality and customer service for the last twelve years in various parts of the metro.
My family and I live in the metro. I have four kids and one golden retriever puppy that keeps us busy in our free time. My family and I love to play sports, watch movies, go on adventures, and bake in our free time.
